Let’s travel back in time.
The year is 2011. The final Harry Potter movie is hitting theaters, LMFAO is dominating the radio, and a gorgeous, deep-blue leather living room set is about to embark on a 15-year solo mission to Mars.
Or, more accurately: a metal storage unit in Southern Utah.
Now, imagine leaving it there. For a decade and a half.
That is fifteen years. We are talking two recessions, three presidential administrations, and approximately nine million St. George dust storms later. While the rest of us were growing up, getting gray hairs, and buying smartphones, this poor couch was locked in a dark box, slowly undergoing a forced geological transformation.
As our awesome client Andrew Miller put it, his storage unit was “first to get wind all those years.”
Translation: whenever the wind howled through Southern Utah, his storage unit stood at the front of the line, open-mouthed, swallowing silt.
When Andrew finally cracked open the heavy metal door, he wasn’t met with a cozy living room set. He was met with an archaeological dig site.

Yes, under that thick shroud of Mojave sand is a leather couch. No, it is not supposed to look like a prop from a post-apocalyptic movie where the characters survive on tumbleweeds and regret. If Indiana Jones cleaned furniture, this is the first place he’d start.
